The Psychology of Money
Introduction · Idea 1

Behavior beats intelligence

The author, Morgan Housel, says money success depends more on how you act than how smart you are. Patience, self-control and calm feelings matter more than degrees. A brilliant person can still go broke. Quick, careless choices do the damage.

Try this

Pause before your next money decision and ask how you feel about it.

The big ideas of a famous book, one card at a time

From Atomic Habits to Thinking, Fast and Slow. Each card gives you one idea in easy words, in the order the book teaches it. Tap a sentence to keep it as a quote.

Atomic Habits
Why tiny changes make a big difference

Small daily gains add up over time

James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, says getting one percent better each day can grow into huge gains. Small daily slips work the same way, shrinking results over time. A single choice seems unimportant, yet years of choices decide where you end up.

Courses

Short courses that play like reels

A teacher walks you through one skill, step by step, with real stories and studies. Watch and listen, or switch to reading cards. A quick check at the end of each lesson makes it stick.

Why You Forget What You ReadA page that feels smooth is not the same as a page you can recall. She reads them once. Then she reads them again. By Thursday, the pages feel easy.
Quick checkMaya's notes feel smooth, and her test is tomorrow. What should she do tonight? She reads the notes once more, slowly, so every line feels clear. She closes her notes, writes what she recalls, and checks it.

One-minute facts for the in-between moments

Short, true facts from psychology, money, health and more, each with its source. Like the ones you love and save the ones you want to keep.

Psychology

Testing yourself helps memory more than rereading does. In a 2006 study, students who quizzed themselves remembered far more a week later.

Psychology

Memory fades fastest right after learning, then more slowly. Hermann Ebbinghaus charted this curve in 1885 by testing himself on made-up words.

Psychology

In 1890, William James called psychology “the science of mental life, both of its phenomena and their conditions.”
